Convert Excel to PDF online

Spreadsheets are hard to share reliably: columns move, formulas can be changed and the recipient may not own the same software. Convert Excel to PDF and everyone sees the same fixed layout. This tool accepts XLSX, XLS, ODS and CSV files and turns them into a PDF, up to five files per run.

For a tidy result, check the print area and page setup in your spreadsheet before you convert Excel to PDF, because the PDF follows the print layout. Wide tables are better set to landscape or scaled to fit the page width. Charts and formatting are kept, and formulas show their calculated values in the PDF.

The conversion from Excel to PDF is done by LibreOffice on our own servers in Germany. Your file is held in memory only and deleted after the download, at the latest after an hour. You can convert Excel to PDF without an account within the daily free limit. Afterwards you can merge several PDFs into one report with our merge tool.

Questions and answers

How are wide tables printed?

Sheets are printed with their saved page setup. Set the print area and page layout in your spreadsheet first for the best result.

Are my files stored?

No. Your files are processed in memory on our servers in Germany. Nothing is written to disk, and everything is discarded as soon as your result has been sent to you.

Are macros executed?

No. Macros are not run during conversion.

Can I convert Apple Numbers files?

Yes. Besides XLSX, XLS, ODS and CSV you can add Numbers files (.numbers) and get a PDF. The conversion reads the Numbers file; a converted Numbers file is not offered as Excel yet.

How do I convert an Excel spreadsheet to PDF without having Excel?

Upload the XLSX or ODS file; we convert it on our server with LibreOffice. For very wide spreadsheets check the page layout in the result.
