Extract ZUGFeRD XML from a PDF invoice
A ZUGFeRD or Factur-X invoice looks like a normal PDF, but the invoice data are stored inside as an XML file. Accounting programs, tax advisers and authorities often need exactly that file. With this tool you can extract ZUGFeRD XML from the PDF in seconds and download it, without installing any software.
Upload one or several PDF invoices and the tool finds the embedded invoice file, for example factur-x.xml or zugferd-invoice.xml, and hands it to you unchanged. The same works for PDFs that carry an XRechnung as an attachment. If you extract ZUGFeRD XML from a PDF that has no embedded invoice, you receive a clear message instead of an empty file.
The tool only reads the file and does not check the content. To find out whether the invoice meets the official rules, use our e-invoice validator, which also reads PDFs directly. Your files are processed on our own servers in Germany, held in memory only and deleted after the download, at the latest after an hour. You can extract ZUGFeRD XML within the free daily allowance without an account. That is all it takes to extract ZUGFeRD XML.

Questions and answers
Does the tool check the invoice?
No, it only takes the XML out. To check it against the official rules, use our tool to validate e-invoices.
Which PDFs work?
PDFs with an embedded invoice file such as factur-x.xml, zugferd-invoice.xml or xrechnung.xml. A normal PDF without such an attachment returns a message that no e-invoice was found.
Is the XML changed?
No. You get exactly the file that is stored in the PDF.
