Remove metadata from PDFs and photos
Documents and photos carry hidden information: the author name, the software used, the creation date and, in photos, often the exact GPS location and the camera model. Before you share a file publicly, it is wise to remove metadata. This tool can remove metadata from PDF, JPG, PNG and WebP files, up to 20 at a time.
For PDFs the tool clears fields such as title, author, subject, keywords and the creating program. For pictures it drops EXIF data, including location and camera details, while the orientation is applied so the photo still looks right. When you remove metadata, the visible content stays the same.
Check the result with your viewer's document properties if you like. Removing metadata is a good habit for job applications, public reports and photos for online marketplaces. Files are processed on our servers in Germany, held in memory only and deleted after the download, at the latest after an hour. No sign-up is needed to remove metadata.

Questions and answers
What is removed?
In PDFs: title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, dates and XMP data. In images: EXIF (camera, date, GPS), XMP, comments and text chunks.
Does it reduce the image quality?
No. Image data is not re-encoded; only the hidden blocks are dropped. Photos that rely on a rotation flag are rotated and saved again at high quality so they do not appear sideways.
What happens to PDF bookmarks and forms?
Bookmarks and form fields are not kept when PDF metadata is removed.
How do I remove the author and metadata from a PDF before sending it?
Upload the PDF: author, title, program details and other metadata are removed. The visible content stays unchanged.
