A QR code connects a printed page with your phone. Our QR code generator creates codes for all common uses: a link to a website, the WLAN of your office so that guests join without typing the password, a contact card (vCard), a ready-to-send e-mail or SMS, a phone number, a map location, a calendar event, a WhatsApp chat and a SEPA bank transfer in the European GiroCode format. Choose the type, fill in the fields and the QR code generator does the rest.

You can download the result as PNG for screens, as SVG for print shops and designers, or as a PDF with vector graphics. Colours, the shape of the dots, the quiet zone and the error correction level can be changed, and the QR code generator warns you when the contrast is too low to scan reliably. Higher error correction keeps the code readable when it is partly covered or printed small, at the price of a larger pattern. Choose “Dynamic link” if the destination may change later.

The data is turned into a code on our own servers in Germany, is held in memory only and is not stored. The code itself contains your data, so it never expires and no tracking redirect is involved. The same QR code generator is available through our API for shops and apps, and works with the free daily quota. Test every printed code with a phone once before you use it widely.

Questions and answers

Are QR codes free and permanent?

Yes. The code contains your data itself, nothing is stored on our side and it never expires. Free daily quota applies like for all tools.

Is my WLAN password safe?

The code is created on our server in Germany and not stored. Anyone who gets the printed code can read the password with a phone, so display it only where you want guests to join.

Which colours work?

Dark dots on a light background scan best. The tool rejects colour pairs with too little contrast. Always test the printed code once.

What is the bank transfer code?

It follows the European standard for transfers (EPC, known as GiroCode). Banking apps read name, IBAN, amount and purpose from it.

What is a dynamic QR code?

It contains a short link instead of the final address. You can change where the short link leads at any time, so a printed code keeps working. It needs a free account and counts the visits.

How do I create a QR code for a business card (vCard)?

Choose the type “Contact” and enter name, phone, e-mail and company. When scanned, the phone creates a contact from it.

How do I create a QR code in my own colours with round dots?

Under style choose the foreground and background colour and the dot shape. Make sure there is enough contrast; it is checked when the code is created.

How do I create a GiroCode for bank transfers?

Choose the type “SEPA transfer” and enter recipient, IBAN, amount and reference. Banking apps read the code and fill in the transfer.

How do I create a QR code as SVG for printing?

Choose SVG (or PDF) as the output. The result can be enlarged at will without becoming blurry.

How do I create a QR code for an appointment or calendar entry?

Choose the type “Event” and enter title, place, start and end. When scanned, the phone creates the appointment in the calendar.
