Split a parcel label: cut an A4 page in the middle

Cut every page of a PDF along a line, by default exactly in the middle: one A4 page becomes two A5 pages in portrait. The result can be printed straight away with “Print”, for example a parcel label on a label printer.

Split parcel label: cut an A4 page and print it online

Parcel labels and shipping receipts often arrive as an A4 page with two things stacked on top of each other: the label itself and a receipt below it. Anyone who wants to print the label on a label printer used to have to edit the page with another program first. With this tool you can split parcel label PDFs without opening an image or PDF editor: the page is cut along the line, and each half becomes its own page in the right size, turned to portrait if you like.

By default the tool cuts exactly in the middle, so one A4 page becomes two A5 halves. When you split parcel label pages you decide whether the cut runs across (top and bottom) or lengthwise (left and right), whether to keep both halves or only one, and whether to rotate the pages so the label sits upright in the printer. The position of the line can be set between 10 and 90 percent if label and receipt are not the same size.

The result consists of real pages in the size of the half, not one page with a hidden rest. That keeps printing simple: you see the pages in a preview, pick the ones you want and print them with one click, without margin and without scaling. If you do not only need to split parcel label sheets but any PDF in the middle, for example to separate double pages from scans, use the same setting and place the cut lengthwise.

Everything runs on our own servers in Germany, is held in memory only and deleted after the download, at the latest after an hour. Please note: even when you split parcel label pages, the other part stays invisibly inside the file. Do not pass the file on if the other half is confidential. The original is never changed.

How it works

  1. Add your PDF

Drop the PDF with the parcel label or receipt onto the page.

  2. Choose the cut

Cut across or lengthwise and keep both halves or only one. By default the halves are turned to portrait; change the rotation if needed.

  3. Check and print

Look at the pages, select the ones you want and print with one click, or download the PDF.

Questions and answers

How do I get a parcel label onto a label printer?

Upload the A4 page with the label and cut it in the middle. In the preview select only the page with the label and click “Print”. In the print dialog choose your label printer and the actual size.

How do I cut an A4 page into two A5 pages?

Leave the cut on “Across” and the position at 50 percent. The result is two A5 pages, in one file if you like.

Is the other part deleted?

No. Each half only shows its own area, the rest stays invisibly in the file. Do not pass the file on if the other half is confidential.

Does it work with several pages?

Yes. By default every page is cut. With the page selection you cut only certain pages and the others stay as they are.
